My Story
How I became a Slate expert
Like many women in technology, I gradually progressed through a series of positions that demanded the ability to translate technical specifications for non-technical colleagues and clients.

I started my career as a K-12 public school teacher, earned an M.Ed, and transitioned to student facing roles in financial aid and registrations at a large public university. I advanced into enrollment data analysis and technology implementation roles, and a few years later I joined the team of Slate consultants at RHB, now Strata Information Group. I am grateful to work with and learn from such a talented group of incredible, kind, intelligent, and hard working people who many consider some of the most knowledgeable Slate users in the world.

I started my own consulting business in late 2023 after the birth of our third child, and here I am today: a small business owner with the freedom to offer highly individualized Slate consulting and training to clients around the world.
About Me
When I'm not on a zoom call or poking around in a Slate database, I'm lucky to be a mom to three lovely little humans and one nervous dog. I grew up in the Philadelphia area, earned my undergrad and grad degrees on the west coast, and now I've lived in Raleigh, North Carolina for about a decade. I'm also a zumba enthusiast and an avid consumer of comedy and design tv shows interchangeably. I'm a regular window shopper on travel and real estate websites, so I'd love to hear about your dream trip or house!
